IX PACIFIC SCIENCE INTER-CONGRESS
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN THE PACIFIC

On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee for the IX Pacific Science Inter-Congress of the Pacific Science Association and Academia Sinica, Taipei, we would like to cordially invite all scholars, scientists, and government administrators, with an interest in issues related to the Sustainable Development in the Pacific to participate in the Conference to be held during November 15-19, 1998 at Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan.
Under the main theme of the 1998 Inter-Congress we will organize about 20 symposia covering aspects of humanities and social sciences, physical sciences and life sciences. The Inter-Congress will also organize an interdisciplinary forum to address the Sustainable Development in the Pacific in order to advocate the importance of sustainability in social-economy, public health, natural resources and conservation, environment and information sciences.
We welcome you to submit papers and poster presentation related to the programme.Abstracts of papers and posters will be published in the proceedings of Inter-Congress. Instructions for the preparation of the abstracts, submission deadline and general information are included in this circular.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Academia Sinica at Taipei in November 1998.
